I saw a funny and appropriate bumper sticker the other day that read, "If you can read this, thank a teacher. If you can read this in English, thank a veteran." Enough said.
Plenty more progress on Day 11. The guys finished the rafters for the roof and started putting on some of plywood decking for the roof and sides.
They also started putting in the framework for the front porch.
It looks like the crew is on schedule to put the roof and shingles on by the end of the week.
The weather forecast looks like the rain should hold off until at least the weekend, so it would certainly be ideal to get the house covered and closed up.
We've been very fortunate in that regard, so far. It's really cool to see the house taking shape to give a better picture of what the end result will be.
It's one thing to see our dream on paper in architectural drawings, but truly another to watch it appearing before our eyes.
